Trail Riding / Trekking on Horseback

Trail riding on horseback covers longer terrain and travel routes, often as day or multi-day rides. Horse welfare, route planning, navigation, suitable tack, breaks, hoof protection and safe behaviour away from the arena are central; a unified competition score is not the focus.

Getting started

Kurzbeschreibung Longer terrain and travel rides on horseback rather than arena or tournament focus.

Geeignet für Suitable for riders who like nature, planning and trust with a horse.

Cost High without horse access; guided day rides are more realistic than your own multi-day route. Lessons, horse/barn costs, saddle/packing gear, hoof protection, route/accommodation costs. VFD-adjacent groups, trail-riding provider, riding club or guided-tour provider. Horse welfare and route safety before mileage.

First progress Safe day rides after a solid riding base; multi-day rides need much more preparation.
