Getting started

Kurzbeschreibung Racing with a musher and dog team on snow or dryland trails.

Geeignet für Suitable for people who take dogs, endurance, winter trails and responsibility seriously.

Cost Realistically through a kennel, club, volunteer day or guided mushing; owning a team is not a spontaneous entry. Dog care/training, sled or dryland setup, trail access, vet costs, travel and racing. Sleddog club, kennel, IFSS/national body or race with volunteer programme. Animal welfare and experience are entry requirements, not side issues.

First progress Basic flow after several supervised sessions; an independent race team takes much longer.
