Yak Polo

Yak polo is a rare regional polo variant described in sources mainly as a festival, tourism or cultural context in highland regions. It borrows polo ideas with mallet, ball and goals but uses yaks instead of polo ponies; a stable world-federation or league structure is not documented.

Getting started

Kurzbeschreibung Rare regional polo variant on yaks instead of horses.

Geeignet für Suitable for discovering regional sport culture, not as easy club entry.

Cost No normal club entry; realistic access is watching, a local event or guided cultural/tourism context. Access depends on local organisers, animal handlers, travel and safety/animal-welfare rules. Local festivals, cultural organisers or polo/mounted-game contexts with documented animal-welfare practice. Do not present it as a normal horse-polo branch with FIP…

First progress Access is the limiting factor; personal playing practice is rare.
