Getting started

Kurzbeschreibung Western riding is a western riding class in which a horse performs a pattern with gaits and flying lead changes calmly and precisely.

Geeignet für Suitable for riders who find subtle aids, pattern work and quiet precision more compelling than rodeo speed.

Cost Entry through western riding lessons/clinic; a school horse can be enough for basics. Riding lessons, barn/club costs, pattern clinics, show fees and optional own horse. Western barn, AQHA/EWU-adjacent trainers or pattern/all-around clinic. Horse welfare, suitable training and safe basic gaits before show pace.

First progress Lines and simple pattern parts after a few weeks; clean flying changes take much longer.
