Getting started

Kurzbeschreibung Angling uses fishing tackle and legal methods on river, lake, coast or boat venues; scoring and catch rules depend on discipline and water body.

Geeignet für Suitable for people who accept precision, patience, nature rules and responsible fish/water handling.

Cost 30-250 EUR for rod, reel, line, hooks/flies, licence or course; rules vary strongly by region. Recurring costs depend on water permit, club, travel, gear maintenance and competitions. Club, federation or water manager may define access, training and local rules. Check licence, catch rules, closed seasons, welfare and water protection first.

First progress Basic casts and tackle knowledge take a few sessions; competition routine needs water experience.
